FAQs
How do I make an order?
Please order using the contact form, WhatsApp or call or text Stephen on 07803 007027
How seasoned are our logs?
Our logs are naturally seasoned and we dry them to under 20% moisture content. They are certified ready to burn and you can use them on wood burning stoves, open fires and chimineas.
Is our firewood locally produced?
All our wood is sourced as locally as possible from surrounding landowners and forestry thinning processes. The firewood is cut and split at our premises and stored, to dry out, in well ventilated barns. Our kiln produces dried wood and we use waste from our production process to heat it. The kiln boiler (Eco Angus Orligno 60Kw gasification log boiler) and fans are powered using solar panels to further lower our carbon footprint. The logs take a week to kiln dry. All our wood is as sustainable and produced with as low carbon emissions as possible.
Log sizes?
Logs are approximately 230mm-250mm x 75-125mm. Other sizes can be produced but they may take up to 14 days to be ready for delivery.
Wood types?
Hardwood, ash, beech, birch, oak, sycamore and hornbeam. Softwoods for kindling, chimineas and firepits.
Where should I store my logs?
Logs must be kept as dry as possible and should ideally be stored in a shed, garage or log store if possible. If you can only store them outside, you should make sure that they are covered but with ventilation at the sides to try and rule out mould and condensation. Logs may be brought indoors prior to burning as the dryer they are, the better they burn.
Can I collect my logs?
We are not open to the public and so unfortunately not – delivery only.
How do I pay?
Bank transfer, cheque or cash on delivery.
Delivery?
We deliver within a 10 mile radius of Chesham and any deliveries over 10 miles by road will incur an additional charge. At busy times we may only be able to deliver within the 10 mile radius. We always try and get orders delivered within the week they are ordered unless they are booked late in the week. Any orders for the same day or Saturday will depend on workload.
How will my logs be delivered?
Logs will be loose tipped on to your driveway or requested site. As we do not have an off-road vehicle, we are unable to deliver to off-road sites. Please see below for delivery of bulk bags.
Delivery of Bulk Bags?
Deliveries of bulk bags via crane truck will require a large area/drive – requirement is a two-car width for parking to enable crane lifting on to pavement areas. Bulk bags are 80 x 80 x 80 and contain approximately 230 logs. Sack Barrow Bags contain approximately 80 logs.
Do I need to be present on delivery?
Yes for the first delivery and certainly if you want to pay cash on delivery. If it is a prepaid order where we have previously delivered then we can deliver your logs to your property / business when you are unavailable.
Will I receive a receipt or invoice?
Yes – all customers will receive an invoice for all products delivered.
What should I do if I am unhappy with my order?
You should contact us immediately if you are unhappy or dissatisfied with your order and we will refund or replace the order. Your feedback is appreciated.
